Wildmob is not-for-profit and non-political. Wildmob takes the 4C’s approach, they’re saving over 90 threatened species (Conservation), they see gains as being only short-term unless we respect the culture within which changes are made (Culture). Wildmob is all about collaboration because no-one can save the world alone (Community) and they make sure that their conservation efforts improve local economies (Commerce). “We do what matters”.

The environment and community of Norfolk Island are fortunate to be included in Wildmob’s project radar. As part of the Norfolk Island Conservation Project Wildmob successfully launched their volunteers program last November and they now have 5 upcoming conservation trips in February, May, July, September and November 2015.

Take a trip that matters: Norfolk Island

The Norfolk Island Conservation Project will involve hands on work within Norfolk Island National Park, other reserves and on private land. A large focus will be on bush-land restoration to secure further habitat for almost 50 threatened or endangered species, and up to 18 species of seabirds that breed within the Norfolk Island group.

Volunteers work alongside like-minded people, National Park rangers, local naturalist and scientists and Norfolk Islanders. There will be plenty of time to enjoy the natural wonders of the islands; snorkeling in pristine ocean waters, bushwalking and bird-watching along National park walking trails, exploring the World Heritage listed Kingston and Arthurs Vale ruins from the islands convict history, and enjoying the renowned hospitality of Norfolk Island.

The project is open to anybody with an interest in nature, a reasonable level of fitness, and a sense of fun and adventure. A Wildmob project leader will be working alongside participants. Numbers are strictly limited to 10 participants.

Volunteer trip package prices start from $1499 per person ex Brisbane and $1539 per person from Sydney. Package includes return airfare to Norfolk Island, all pre-paid airline taxes, return airport transfers, 7 nights twin share accommodation, shared use of van and hire car for 7 days, all meals provided by Wildmob, half day island orientation tour, complimentary $10 internet hot spot and use of Norfolk Island mobile phone provided by Wildmob accommodation partner plus local discount shopping card.
