PowerHealth Solutions, Platinum Sponsor of the City of Onkaparinga ATP Challenger, is proud to be sponsoring tennis professional Paul-Henri Mathieu in his comeback attempt at this tournament.

Paul-Henri Mathieu, aged 32 from France started playing at the age of 3 and turned professional in 1999 at 17. Paul-Henri worked his way up to World Number 12 in 2008 before an injury to his left knee required surgery in 2011 and 18 months off to recover.

In 2012, Mathieu’s wife Quiterie Camus gave birth to their son, but unfortunately she developed Hodgkin's lymphoma not long after. Since then, Paul-Henri’s world ranking has slipped to 55 in 2013, and then 95 in 2014.

In 2015 with his wife in remission, Mathieu is making his comeback starting at the City of Onkaparinga ATP Challenger in Happy Valley. After that, he hopes to be competing at the Australian Open Grand Slam in Melbourne 19 January - 1 February and continue on the Australian Pro Tour. His goal is to make it into the Top 30 by the end of this year.

Mathieu is known for being able to hit heavy groundstrokes and his topspin forehand is probably his biggest weapon. A popular, well-liked player, Mathieu is often affectionately known by his initials, “PHM”.

CEO Patrick Power said, “We are very pleased to be sponsoring PHM in his comeback and we wish him all the best in his sporting career as well as his personal life.”
