The last couple of decades have brought radical changes to the business world. Technological advancements and globalisation have transformed economic and commercial environments immensely. Through the Internet, international communication has became an everyday activity with few barriers. ICT is growing exponentially and in these circumstances, companies should analyse their environment at micro and macro levels in order to ensure sustainable growth and a profitable market share.

Previously, big companies could dominate their markets as they pleased. Henry Ford's famous quote depicts that era : “Any customer can have a car painted any colour that he wants so long as it is black.†Nowadays, technical know-how and data circulates very quickly throughout the Internet and is accessible for almost everyone. Having a unique and outstanding product or service is no longer sufficient. Competitors can manufacture and provide similar goods and services of a much higher quality and often with fewer hurdles than in previous decades.

So what approach do you take to give yourself a competitive advantage whilst also achieving your goals? Numerous business gurus share the same idea of angible, consistent and integrated public relations and marketing strategies. These strategies must include effective usage of the Internet to the fullest extent. The Internet is a controllable wide spread communication tool that creates a mutual and interactive platform to be leveraged. To be a powerful player in your sector, you need to ensure that your site is easily accessible to a search engine and is able to be found by your target market.

Search Engine Optimisation (SEO) is the only essential strategic and technical process which improves your website's rank in search engines and helps to create more exposure and awareness of your brand and organisation. A solid SEO strategy focuses on long term results and should be implemented by a qualified and professional SEO company with a proven track record of success.
