The staff and residents of the Aveo Derwent Waters retirement village recently held a craft sale with all proceeds going to charity.

Amongst the craft items on sale, all of which were delicately handcrafted by the residents, were colourful knitted blankets, scarves and teapot covers, to name a few.

Through the sale of the craft items, the residents were able to present nearly $950 to the Cancer and Caring Auxiliary which operates from the Royal Hobart Hospital. The items that were not sold were later donated to the Auxiliary.

Over 50 residents and their guests attended the sale and enjoyed a delicious afternoon tea together afterwards.

The event was a great success and highlighted the selfless efforts of the Aveo Derwent Waters residents.
