The Wedding Girl is stepping out of her iPhone app and onto the streets to directly promote the products and services of app suppliers in a new, highly sharable way across media platforms which already engage Australian brides and grooms. 

The Wedding Girl app has a strong presence in Australia and around the world, downloaded over 26,000 times (as at 30 April 2014) in over 13 countries. Looking for the next innovation to further engage brides and suppliers on the back of this success, app creator Cindy Westphalen is bringing the Wedding Girl out of the app and onto the streets of Adelaide. On Monday 5 May the Real Wedding Girl will be launched to brides and suppliers, at trendy warehouse space, 87 Gibson Street, Bowden.

The Real Wedding Girl is handpicked Adelaide girl Caitlin Johnston-White who is no stranger to the spotlight, having competed in ice skating championships from a young age. On Monday 9 December 2013 the Real Wedding Girl received a professional style makeover for her first photoshoot around Adelaide, featuring early-adopter suppliers. The images from this first sponsored shoot will be used to launch the image and the initiative of the Real Wedding Girl at Monday’s event, where suppliers can learn all about how to become involved.

A photoshoot session with the Real Wedding Girl will focus on a particular supplier’s product or service, and be styled with a unique theme to appeal to a range of brides’ personalities, budgets and dreams, while echoing current fashion and style trends. The shots from each session will be used in a targeted way on new and existing digital media platforms and a dedicated blog, managed by the Wedding Girl’s Digital and Social Media Team.

The shots of the Real Wedding Girl modelling or experiencing supplier’s products or services will be used on highly sharable platforms such as Twitter, Pinterest, Instagram and Facebook, allowing suppliers to track likes, shares, comments and click-throughs from their fully branded shots. Wedding Girl app users are already prolific in the use of digital social media, and the Wedding Girl team is proud to continually offer innovative ways for suppliers to meaningfully engage with their customers.
