Australian residents will have access to millions of dollars worth of storm affected vehicle stock that is up for auction in the wake of the recent floods in Melbourne. Buyers can save thousands on near new, late model and other vehicles.

The first in a series of auctions will take place on Wednesday, 31 March. There are a huge range of vehicles including late model and prestige vehicles - all must sell. Brands include Toyota, Ford, Holden, Mitsubishi, Nissan, Mazda, Honda, Subaru and many more.

The severe storms that hit Melbourne on Saturday, 6 March 2010 left a $400 million trail of destruction, and have been described as the most costly Australian natural disaster in 50 years.

Damaged Vehicles Director at Pickles Auctions, Will Morgan, believes storm affected vehicle auctions are a good opportunity to buy a range of vehicles, at below retail prices.

“We have thousands of vehicles to sell. Many of these vehicles are near new, low kilometres, with varying degrees of damage. A large percentage of vehicles are hail damaged and all vehicles are expected to sell well below retail value,” said Will. “There has never been a better opportunity to buy.”

“Residents not living in Melbourne can bid online and save thousands. However, I would encourage locals to come and view the car they are interested in to ensure they are happy with it,” said Will.

The Melbourne Storm Affected Vehicle Auctions will take place over the next few months with the first auction to be held on Wednesday, 31 March, starting at 9:30am. Viewing times will be held between 12:00pm – 5:00pm on the day prior to auction and from 8:00am on the day of sale.

All auctions will be available through Pickles Live online bidding. Buyers are encouraged to visit to view the vehicle listings, photographs and to find out how to register to participate in this auction.

The first auction will be conducted at 26-50 Cherry Lane, Laverton North, Melbourne, Victoria.
