A brave move to aggregate and report news on one of the world’s top five industries riddled with controversy and corruption by start-up, Building on Air, has already paid off with an overwhelming response when launched in partnership with Master Builders Queensland earlier this month. Built environment professionals are savvy individuals who value industry relevant news, yet there is an ongoing loss of opportunity due to the lack of disposable hours to research news, projects, changing regulations and product innovations outside of their immediate location or discipline.
“Consumers have Grand Design, The Block, House Rules and so on but a professional news source for the people who think through the design, structure, and actually finance the buildings has not been forth coming,” said Ray Hawkins, Chief Technology Officer for Building on Air.
Building on Air is delivering a dedicated video news broadcast online (the first of its kind) to the building and design industry in Australia. The national 30-minute broadcast will be a leading news source reaching industry professionals. Every week industry professionals will receive a snapshot of news, product innovations, design trends, sustainability, policy developments and more across the various disciplines in this industry.
According to Nielsen’s Australian Connected Consumer Report released this week, Australians spend almost a day per week online, 3.5 times more than a decade ago. Nielsen also said internet penetration is reaching saturation with 82% of Australians online.
Strategy Advisor, Theodora Le Souquet added, “This is the time for online video industry news and for video advertising as more and more people embrace connected TV. We are simply a part of the wave and encourage everyone to jump on board and collaborate with us to make this a great success for the industry and of course to watch the program.”
Chief of Operations, Alice Orozco said, “The program’s objective is give industry professionals a video medium by which they can stay abreast of the latest news shaping our industry and henceforth remain relevant, innovative and profitable”.
The news broadcast will be available to download every Tuesday at www.buildingonair.com.au.
Building on Air is proudly partnered with Master Builders Queensland.
Also there will be a handy subscription feature that sends an email for each new program to keep industry professionals abreast of the latest industry news in the coming weeks.
