After adding many thousands of dollars to clients’ houses for five years now, one-time unemployed Adelaide mum Charyn Youngson is releasing some of her secrets to the broader market – in a new book that explains how to get top dollar during a real estate sale.

The book is aptly titled Sold For Top Dollar but perhaps the sub-title explains exactly why people will be queuing up to buy it – “low cost housing improvements to maximise your sale” pretty well explains what every home owner or investor wants when they put the “for sale” sign out the front. Unfortunately, most people don’t know how to go about achieving that outcome and that’s where Charyn comes in!

Released next month across Australia in a series of launches, Sold For Top Dollar provides expert commentary on everything you should but probably don’t know about preparing a house for sale. It explains how Charyn has been adding thousands – and often many tens of thousands – of dollars to average houses with 10 easy steps to home staging, renovating and getting the right team on board at sale time including a real estate agent who is prepared to work for you and not just themselves.

Home staging? That’s the secret to the whole thing. Charyn Youngson and, more recently daughter and co-author Kate, are Australia’s best at this still little known art of giving a house the wow factor.

In just five years, Charyn has become Australia’s leading home stager, providing an often inexpensive makeover or facelift to add value and style to what may have become a tired home. And it’s not simply a quick-fix, get-it-sold method; Charyn and Kate have been called in many times by owners with no intention of selling to help bring out the best in homes that have lost their sparkle.

It’s all in the book. The “how to” tips are combined with the inspirational story of an unemployed single mum starting her own business and succeeding beyond all expectations. It also features plenty of good yarns, lots of humour and some before and after photos that will make you look at your house and start imagining how to improve it.

Sold For Top Dollar will be officially launched at the Adelaide Writer’s Centre, on Rundle Street in Adelaide’s East End, on Wednesday, April 21. Hosted by television personality Troy Gray, the evening will run from 7pm til 9pm.
