Australia's largest community for women will launch on the Gold Coast in two weeks with a breakfast event featuring Ita Buttrose

Current Australian of the Year Ita Buttrose will join Business Chicks as guest speaker at their launch event on the Gold Coast in September. Ita has previously spoken at sold-out Business Chicks events around the country.

Ita needs little introduction; she is a woman of many firsts. Ita was the first woman to be appointed to the board of Australian Consolidated Press and News Limited and still holds the title as the youngest ever Editor of The Australian Women’s Weekly. Ita has forever changed how women are perceived and valued in the workplace; she has truly paved the way. At a time where women did not hold positions of power, Ita rose to the level of the best blokes in business and didn’t throw her femininity away in the process.

“Ita has shown that you can have a stellar career and be a wonderful mother at the same time. She's done all this under public scrutiny and intense professional pressure, and emerged as a strong role model and leader. Ita is a compelling story-teller with some really important messages to share. She is such a Business Chick; she’s one of our favourites.” Emma Isaacs, CEO Business Chicks.

Business Chicks is Australia’s largest community for women in business and will expand their reach this year as they launch their community on the Gold Coast. The national organisation of more than 30,000 members currently has a presence in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Perth and Canberra.

Business Chicks

At Business Chicks we believe that great stuff happens when women come together to uplift and inspire each other. When we stop competing, and start lending a hand. When we give of ourselves and our expertise so that others can benefit from it. We imagine a world where women feel part of something bigger than themselves, and a world where we feel safe to give anything a go.
