The Norfolk Island Line Dancing festival gains more and more momentum each year. Bootscooters literally danced their way to Norfolk Island this year, much to the delight of their fellow passengers. 09-13 March 2014 is shaping up to be another success!

Line dancing inflight kicks-off a week of fun, and all things line dancing for visiting Australians and New Zealanders. With this year’s festival chalked up as a huge hit Norfolk Island is gearing up for 2014 when renowned line dancing instructor Kate Simpkin travels over to lead the festival next March.

If you’ve met Kate Simpkin, Line Dancing instructor of Southern Cross Line Dancers, you’d understand why Kate won the 2010 Australian Line Dance Teacher of the year and was nominated personality of the year in 2011. Kate’s energy and enthusiasm is infectious! March 2014 will be Kate’s third visit to Norfolk Island.

Organisers guarantee a minimum of five line dancing lessons with Kate Simpkin plus three social nights including a Hawaiian theme night, party night and a creative “best Op Shop costume” night. Also included is a welcome barbeque and Norfolk Island style farewell dinner both with entertainment and dancing. Kate also has plans for a flash mob line-dancing style to keep the locals on their toes. The Norfolk festival is sure to be another week of fabulous line dancing, socialising and a tonne of fun.

Dancers will still have time to catch their breath and explore the island in between dances! Norfolk has a diverse range of activities on offer, it’s a beautiful place which charms visitors the moment they step off the (line dancing) plane.

There is much to see and do on Norfolk Island: fascinating historic tours, see Kingston which is a World Heritage Listed area, outdoor re-enactments of the Bounty Mutiny (with parts played by actual descendants of Fletcher Christian), ‘Light and Sound’ shows, eco-tours, glass bottom boat coral reef trips, swimming, snorkeling, fishing, dining out in the numerous fine restaurants, bush walking, scenic horse riding, golf on what has been called the world’s most beautiful golf course, bowls, tennis, and squash.
