ADELAIDE:  The economic outlook in SA for businesses may be down but Tech focussed organisations are thriving in the face of uncertain times

Social Media AOK has relocated their agency and recruited three young creative minds to join their Stepney based agency, broadening their horizons and strengthening their creative stranglehold on the social media world.

With new offices on Payneham Road in the leafy eastern suburb of Stepney, Justin and Simone Douglas aspire to expand the breadth of their social media based agency to include public relations, graphic design and journalism after a strong debut year in the social media marketing industry.

Aspiring journalist Nadia Boscaini joins Social Media AOK after completing a successful internship with the agency in the first half of 2013, securing a part time position as a Solutions Architect

Boscaini completed a Bachelor of Journalism at UniSA and has a fierce knowledge in the areas of broadcast, print and online journalism, completing work placements at The Sunday Mail, The Messenger and InDaily.

Simone Douglas, Solutions Architect, Social Media AOK said:

“Nadia shows initiative that’s rare in young graduates, her outgoing nature and sunny disposition made us feel she will be important to the development of our business. With the ongoing shift in the communications landscape Nadia is perfectly placed to assist with the future expansion of Social Media AOK.”

Brendan Stevens, a UniSA public relations student and freelance designer joins the agency as an Intern, developing his skills within the social media sphere. Adding to roles in management with in the hospitality industry, Stevens aims to work in a highly creative environment that spans his skills in practical to theoretical communications situations.

“I enjoy thinking outside the box, I like to think big, think creatively, and being surrounded by a team of creatives that have a desire to make big things happen,” Stevens said.

Sourcing clients for freelance design work by day, managing bars and hotels by night, Stevens brings an open mind, strong hands-on work ethic and a stern set of leadership skills to the agencies table.

Stephanie Hodgson, a third year UniSA public relations student also joins the agency as a fresh young intern with big ambitions following a successful placement at Gray Management Group. The placement helped Hodgson develop skills in common media practices and integrated marketing campaigns.

Justin Douglas, Managing Director, Social Media AOK said:

“At Social Media AOK we are determined to continue to develop and deliver our training solutions to businesses empowering them to take charge of their digital footprint and hold their agency accountable if they choose to outsource. Too often businesses are caught out because they don’t understand the space they are entering. Social Media is only one aspect of a business’s Sales and Marketing albeit a very popular one. To do it successfully you have to have a clear plan and rule for engagement as well as a strategic risk management plan.”

With these three fresh young faces on board at the new Social Media AOK offices, developing new and emerging strategies comprising an assortment of creative communications solutions, the future of the young bustling social media agency looks promising.

Simone and Justin are both available for commentary on all social media related media.
