With less than two weeks before entries close, Victorians are being urged to enter the 2013 Premier’s Sustainability Awards.

Sustainability Victoria CEO, Mr Stan Krpan encouraged all Victorians who have demonstrated environmental leadership to enter this year's awards.

“The Premier's Sustainability Awards are the most prestigious environmental awards in the state. Finalists and winners receive valuable recognition from the Victorian government, their communities and customers. They will be able to use their involvement in the program to demonstrate a genuine and practical commitment to sustainable innovation," Mr Krpan said.

Now in their eleventh year, the Premier’s Sustainability Awards celebrate efficient use of water, resources and energy, better waste management and recycling practices, the enhancement of the environment and effective, practical community action.

Entries are open in eight categories: Innovative Products and Services, Infrastructure and Buildings, Tourism, Education, Environmental Protection, Small and Medium Enterprises, Large Business and Community.

In addition to these awards, the Premier will personally select two overall winners: the Premier's Recognition Award and the Premier's Regional Recognition Award.

The Premier’s Regional Recognition Award will focus on a regional finalist who has demonstrated significant benefit for regional Victoria.

The overall winner will receive the Premier’s Recognition Award, which focuses on exemplary leadership and innovation in sustainability. All award winners, whether regional or metropolitan will be eligible for the Premier’s Recognition Award.

Entries close at 2pm on Monday 15 July and finalists will be announced on Tuesday 22 October. Visit for entry criteria and kits, and queries.
