Attorney-General, Jarrod Bleijie has appointed NECA Queensland Executive Director, Mick Logan , to the Electrical Safety Board. Under the Electrical Safety Act 2002 the Board was established to give advice and make recommendations to the Attorney-General and the Electrical Safety Office about policies, strategies and legislative arrangements for electrical safety.
The Board provides an essential link between industry,government and the community in working to improve electrical safety across Queensland. Mick brings experience in industry and government to the Board and will be able to present NECA members views to the safety regulator for the betterment of safety and regulation in Queensland.
These links have already proven useful in putting NECA's position on the review of the Electrical Safety Act, National Occupational Licensing System and the new Electrical Equipment Safety System implementation to government.
