One of Australia’s greatest rock guitarists, Ashley Naylor, has come out swinging, amidst claims that he doesn't know the difference between crowd surfing and crowd funding.

"I must admit, I thought I knew the difference between crowd surfing and crowd funding, but the differences are getting more blurred by the day – I thought crowd surfing was about taking calculated risks and having fun, and crowd funding was about hard work and being miserable," says Naylor.

Naylor adds that with his latest crowd funding project, to release his second solo album, 'Ashley Naylor's High Horse' on audiophile vinyl, he has discovered quite the opposite.

“I have always loved vinyl records, ever since my early days of learning to play guitar by listening to vinyl records by the likes of Led Zeppelin, The Smiths, The Beatles and Explosive Hits 75, of course," says Naylor.

Naylor adds that plans to release the 'High Horse' album on vinyl have given him renewed enthusiasm for what will be a busy 2013.

"The album was released on CD and digital during a very difficult time in my life. I am optimistic about the prospects for the solo album on vinyl, as I am for my other major music priorities for 2013 – releasing EVEN's latest album, In Another Time, on vinyl and releasing a new album with Sherry Rich as The Grapes."

Ashley Naylor is playing at Feskyval 2013, at the Fairfield Amphitheatre, on Saturday 23 February at 3PM, in support of Kids Under Cover.
