Vodafone Hutchison Australia is shaping up a new multi-platform sponsorship of the 2010 series of Channel 10’s The Biggest Loser under the Vodafone brand.

Working with a new host Hayley Lewis, nine new couples and the stalwart trainers Shannon and Michelle, Vodafone is bringing additional new elements to bring Series 5 alive for its customers and the viewing public.

Vodafone Hutchison Australia’s Director of Marketing, John Casey commented: “The Biggest Loser has a sentimental and motivational place in peoples’ hearts. Communication is key to bringing the show to life, and we’ll be enabling contestants to stay connected during the competition via Vodafone Nokia N-97 video calls and mobile broadband to access the internet. This real world demonstration of Vodafone’s simple, affordable innovations will ensure we resonate with consumers.”

Delivering compelling content is core to Vodafone’s sponsorship of the program. Vodafone Hutchison customers will have the opportunity to watch catch-up TV on their handsets, whilst mobile broadband customers will be able to unlock exclusive parts of The Biggest Loser Australia website.

Alongside the hard-fought on air competition, Vodafone will be inviting consumers to participate in a number of promotions and opportunities to help drive active lifestyles and interaction with the brand through-out the Series.

“We anticipate this series of The Biggest Loser will draw an even bigger following than the previous years, hitting the key 18-39 year old demographic,” added Casey.

The Vodafone sponsorship of The Biggest Loser will feature an interactive television, online and mobile component, in addition to live mobile streaming and mobile downloads of each episode to customers, as well as special opportunities for behind the scenes action and gossip.
