NSW residents are entitled to cash rebates if they purchased an energy efficient washing machine in 2012, but time to claim a rebate is running out.

As the price of the NSW energy savings certificates has increased, is offering increased rebate payments for applications received in January 2013.

Washing Machine Rebates range from $10 to $35. Mr Jones, founder of, says “even though the rebate amounts are modest, not claiming your rebate is like saying keep $25 in change.”

Rebates are available for top loader washing machines that have an energy rating of 3 stars or more, which includes some machines from ELECTROLUX, FISHER & PAYKEL, LG, SIMPSON and SAMSUNG ELECTRONICS.

For front loader rebates, washing machines must have a rating of 4.5 stars or more, which includes machines from: ASKO, MIELE, PANASONIC, ELECTROLUX, BOSCH, HOOVER, KLEENMAID, and Siemens.

2012 rebates can be processed up to June 2013, but Mr Jones is encouraging NSW residents to put in their rebate application in January 2013, whilst the rebate amounts are higher.

To claim your rebate, simply complete the rebate form.

With a carbon price and increased electricity costs, and minimizing your personal climate change impact, purchasing an energy efficient washing machine is increasingly important. Those that did purchase an energy efficient washing machine in 2012, can reward themselves by claiming their rebate in January 2013.

Contact Profile creates rebates for NSW residents. Rebates are created when the householder signs the energy savings (from the purchase of an energy efficient appliance) over to Greenmoola, then aggregates the savings and sells them to NSW electricity retailers. Retailers are legislated to buy certificates each year in order to improve energy efficiency outcomes in NSW.
