Retail Zoo, the parent company of Boost Juice and Salsa’s Fresh Mex Grill, has today announced an exciting addition to their portfolio: iconic Italian coffee brand Cibo Espresso.

Cibo Espresso is a well-established and highly successful brand, particularly in South Australia, with 20 stores in Adelaide and two in Brisbane. Through this partnership with Retail Zoo, the Cibo Espresso brand will now be extended across Australia.

Jeff Allis, Chief Executive Officer of Retail Zoo, says: “Our vision is to help young Australian companies reach their full potential.”

“Cibo is a wonderful partnership for both companies, they have a compelling ‘x factor’ brand, and Retail Zoo has a powerful back end to help Cibo achieve its complete vision. We love the Cibo brand and it’s an incredible honour to be able to help their team grow Cibo across Australia.”

Roberto Cardone, Cibo Espresso co-founder, said: “The partnership with Retail Zoo enables us to utilise their sophisticated management and franchise systems to facilitate Cibo Espresso’s rapid expansion. They know how to grow a business quickly without in any way compromising quality.”

Cibo Espresso was born from a passion to share the simple pleasures of the Italian lifestyle - wonderful coffee and quality food in a modern, stylish bar setting. Cibo uses 100 percent Premium Arabica coffee beans, roasted and blended to their own special recipe.

Initially the growth of Cibo Espresso will be focused on the Melbourne, Adelaide and Brisbane markets and Retail Zoo is now actively looking for partners to become involved, taking expressions of interest through and

Cibo Espresso was launched in Adelaide in 2000 by an accomplished chef, an artisan trained pasticciere, a renowned restaurant manager and a fine barista.

Roberto Cardone, Salvatore Pepe, Angelo Inglese and Claudio Ferraro used to run Adelaide dining landmark Cibo Ristorante in Adelaide in 1996 and although Espresso Bar culture was still in its infancy in Australia, the foursome were convinced that people were ready for a real Italian coffee bar, offering artisan made, Italian products in a modern environment.

Coffee lovers were quick to catch on and before long, Cibo Espresso had expanded to 20 stores in Adelaide and two in Brisbane. Cibo makes its own pastries, breads, gelati and other food at its Cibo Espresso Kitchen.
