From early morning to dusk the opportunities for magical light, country roads, farmland, historic buildings, coastline, mountains and rainforest are endless. Given his first camera at the age of eight, Ian began taking Monochrome pictures of family and friends and the regular annual holidays. A love of the landscape soon developed and flourished during a school camping safari to outback Queensland while attending Secondary College.
Ian has travelled extensively in Australia, South East Asia, England and North America, Norfolk Island and much of the Pacific region where he has photographed for the travel industry and stock libraries. His personal collection of photographs is now in excess of 40,000 transparencies and 60,000 digital files. For nearly 15 years Ian also wrote for Photo-master, Total Image and better Pictures magazines. Ian now concentrates on conducting and leading numerous Photographic workshops in Victoria, Tasmania and overseas.
Ian has won numerous awards both here in Australia and Internationally including Gold and Silver medals for his Photographs, he has been published in numerous books, magazines, and other commercial areas and has been awarded the title "artiste" from the International Society of Photographic Art. Ian is also a Fellow of the Australian Photographic Society.
