Sydney: 12 November 2012 - SelectingSuper, Australia’s leading independent superannuation information service, announced today the launch of the SelectingSuper Guide Edition Eleven 2012/2013.

The SelectingSuper Guide, now in its 11th year of publication, contains comprehensive information about superannuation and hundreds of super funds that consumers and employers will be able to use to help them understand their super fund, and if they are not happy with their current fund, choose a new one.

SelectingSuper is not only available as a printed Guide, but also has a website ( and iPad App (available from the iTunes Store, look for ‘SelectingSuper’).

Christopher Page, managing director of the Rainmaker Group, the company behind SelectingSuper, said, “Superannuation fund members have had their confidence shattered by chronically low fund returns that are struggling to get up off the mat, but superannuation is still the second most important investment most people will ever own apart from their home.”

“It’s crucial they understand their super fund and why they chose it. And if they are unhappy with it that they choose a fund that suits them.”

Page said consumers each year deposit five weeks pay into their super funds and they owe it to themselves and their families to choose the right fund.

The information, articles, how-to guides and market directories in the SelectingSuper Guide will arm consumers and employers with the right information so they can assess their fund and decide if it’s time to change.

If after going through the SelectingSuper Guide consumers still don’t like what the mainstream super funds are offering, they can look up the information in the Guide, online or via our iPad app about self-managed superannuation funds (SMSFs) to help them get started on that road as well.

“Information in the Guide explains what are the core differences between funds, what the fees pay for, how the investment menus work, how to make sense of the insurance deals they offer, and how to get your fund working for you today,” said Page.

The SelectingSuper Guide also includes profiles of Australia’s top rated super funds.

SelectingSuper is powered by research provided by Rainmaker, one of Australia’s leading independent financial services research groups.
