The Member-Elect for the NSW State Seat of Sydney, Alex Greenwich, has called on the O'Farrell Government to use the newly found $1 Billion in funds from the State Budget towards education, health, community services, and public housing.

Mr Greenwich said, "The Sydney by-election sent the O'Farrell Government a clear message about the dissatisfaction across the community with the State Government's cuts to education, health, and community services"

"The Government now has an opportunity to listen to the community and right a wrong by limiting these cuts and ruling out the proposed sell off public housing in Miller's Point".

Mr Greenwich said the community would also like to see some of the surprise surplus used towards opening a much needed public high school in inner-Sydney and returning funding to Sydney Festival First night.
