Nominations are open for the eighth annual Fast Movers competition, organised by South Australian business magazine, in-business, along with Business Advisory and Accounting firm, BDO.

Fast Movers are judged according to sustainable revenue growth over a three-year period, and then ranked according to their average rate of growth in percentage terms.

Since inception average growth rates have ranged from 15% to more than 1300% with turnovers varying from $450,000 to more than $980 million.

“It’s a competition that has been embraced by the entrepreneurial community of our state and provides vital benchmarks for success financially but also brings diversity into focus,” says in-business publisher, Graham Wakeling.

A pool of $50,000 in cash and prizes is offered to the overall winner and runners-up. There are also publicity benefits, attention from the investment community plus opportunities to network with other fast-growth companies.

The prize pool incorporates the Bibby Financial Services $10,000 cash prize and an MBA scholarship from the Australian Institute of Business.

Last year’s winner, Bill Cowie of Move Yourself Trailer Hire, was blown away by the public recognition. His son Rob is undertaking the MBA and has found the experience to be life-changing – personally and professionally.

Entry is free and South Australian firms can self-nominate or be nominated by a service-provider or business contact if revenue figures are provided and signed by an external accountant.

The nomination form is only a single-page and it’s quick and easy to enter.

Nominees must

• Have a South Australian head office
• Have less than 300 staff
• Have no more than 50% of revenue from one customer
• Be a public or private company not government managed or government owned
• Have turnover of at least $200,000 in the first of the past three financial years
• Not be a subsidiary of a company which in itself does not meet all of eligibility criteria.

An entry form is available from the in-business website and nominations close on Tuesday 16 October 2012. The final list is released at a breakfast on November 30 and will be available in the December/January edition of
