Join the Australian Himalayan Foundation for an evening of inspiration and enjoyment at the organisation’s annual fundraising dinner on Friday 5 October 2012.

The dinner, themed ‘A Life in the Himalaya’, will raise funds to support the people of the Himalaya through education, health and environmental projects in Nepal, India and Bhutan.

This year’s special guest speaker will be mountaineering legend Peter Hillary, son of the late Sir Edmund Hillary, who will deliver the Sir Edmund Hillary Memorial Address.

Peter grew up climbing mountains with his father and has participated in expeditions throughout the Himalaya, America and the Antarctic regions. He has summitted Mount Everest twice, has received multiple awards for his achievements, and has dedicated much of his life to helping the people of the Himalaya. A founding director of the Australian Himalayan Foundation, Peter has continued to build on his father’s legacy of ‘giving something back’.

Other highlights of the evening include award-winning singer-songwriter Perry Keyes; the opportunity to meet Everest summiteers, including Andrew Lock; and a special tribute to the late Lincoln Hall OAM, who was also a director of the organisation. Eric Campbell, journalist and presenter on the ABC’s Foreign Correspondent program will be the MC on the night.

There is also an opportunity to join an exclusive pre-dinner drinks reception and be seated at tables with eminent adventurers.

If you have trekked, travelled or have a passion for the roof of the world – this is an event not to be missed.
