BNS Group has won the Australian Capital Territory state iAward for their Security controlled and audited UNCLASSIFIED fax solution for Government.

The solution was developed in conjunction with Ricoh Australia to enable Government departments to send unclassified faxes from multifunction devices within the guidelines of the Australian Government’s Information Security Manual (ISM).

The 2012 iAwards honours companies at the cutting edge of technology innovation as well as leading professionals across the industry. Most importantly, the iAwards recognises the achievements of home-grown Australian innovators.

The BNS innovation will now proceed for consideration in the national iAwards to be announced in August.

“Congratulations to Laurence and BNS Group on this well-earned award,” said Kathy Wilson, General Manager Business Solutions and Production, Ricoh Australia. “We are proud to have been involved in developing this important unique innovation.”

“Partnering with companies such as BNS is an example of our commitment to investing in innovation in Australia,” said Wilson. “BNS have worked in collaboration with our Business Solutions Group to develop new technologies for the betterment of our customers, and we look forward to continued success together.”

The Security controlled and audited UNCLASSIFIED fax solution has provided Government agencies with the ability to use their network connected Ricoh MFD to its full capability of printing, copying, scanning and now faxing with protective markings on the one device – for the first time – without the need of a standalone fax.

End-users sending from the Ricoh MFDs are identified when sending the fax by their secure network log-in and in conjunction with BNS Group’s technology, ensuring that the full audit trail is resident on the fax server.

“Our R&D efforts, innovation and agility allows us to deliver relevant solutions to Government and Corporate customers. BNS extends its thanks to Ricoh Australia for believing in our vision to deliver a security based solution for unclassified faxing in Government," said Laurence Buchanan Director Sales & Marketing BNS Group.

BNS Group is based in Sydney and Canberra, they focus on secure FAX and SMS messaging solutions for Government and Corporate customers. They have won the ACT State iAward in 2010 for its SMS Solutions used by Suncorp and GIO in the QLD floods.
