The latest episode of Toop TV reports that it is possible to purchase bargains in close proximity to Adelaide’s CBD, according to recent comment from RP Data.

While many media outlets are reporting property market conditions to be as gloomy as the weather, there is some good news out there for buyers looking to snap up a bargain.

"At the height of the property market three years ago, finding a home in a reasonable condition close to the city centre was quite a difficult task," says Tim Thredgold, Toop TV Presenter and Sales Partner at Toop & Toop Real Estate.

But according to RP Data’s Senior Research Analyst Cameron Kusher, current weaker market conditions mean houses can be found at an affordable price within 20km of the CBD.

"In Adelaide the most affordable suburb to buy property in close to the city is Wingfield where the median price is $235,000," says Toop TV reporter Elise Partington.

"Other suburbs joining Wingfield on this list are Brahma Lodge, Salisbury North, Salisbury Downs and Salisbury," reports Miss Partington.

Nationally over 34% of suburbs within 20km of the city centre now have a median house price below $500,000.

While the more expensive cities offer less of an opportunity to snare a well-located bargain, by doing some homework these bargains can still be found.

The cheapest median house prices in these CBD vicinities are found within Hobart, followed by Adelaide and then Brisbane. While these prices tend to be much higher in Melbourne and Sydney.

The issue will be discussed on today's Toop TV.  Also on Episode 126 of Toop TV:
