The team from Ricoh Australia and Hawthorn Football Club came together last night to celebrate the extension of Ricoh’s sponsorship of the Club with the official opening of the Ricoh Centre.

A key component of the expanded agreement is the naming rights to the Club’s administrative and training base, Waverley Park, which is now known as the Ricoh Centre.

While the expanded agreement was formalised between the two organisations in December, Hawthorn President Andrew Newbold and Ricoh Australia’s Managing Director Les Richardson made it official last night with the cutting of the ribbon at a launch event.

Presentations were made by both Newbold and Richardson and guests were taken on an behind the scenes tour of the Ricoh Centre. And getting back to what the Club is all about, Jordan Lewis, Hawthorn’s vice captain and Ricoh’s player ambassador, even tested guests’ skills with a handball target game.

"Ricoh Australia has enjoyed a great relationship with Hawthorn over the past seven years and the move to major partner, as well as receiving the naming rights to the Club's head office in Waverley Park, is a natural progression for us. We look forward to many more successful years with the Hawks as we continue to build this partnership and add value and expertise to one another’s organisations," said Richardson.

“The relationship between Hawthorn and Ricoh is important for both parties. For Ricoh, the facility becomes a centre of excellence with the latest Ricoh products and technology. Likewise for Hawthorn as we strive for best practice on and off the field. We pride ourselves on partnering with innovative organisations and this relationship with Ricoh further enhances this desire,” said Newbold.
