Schools and Childcare Centres in flood stricken areas are being given a helping hand by School SMS messaging company MGM Wireless, which has promptly responded to crisis calls with an offer of its Outreach Parent SMS service free of charge.

The Adelaide-based company has received dozens of calls from Schools and Childcare Centres in badly hit regions, from Cronulla in NSW to Rutherglen in Victoria.

The company is also offering its Crisis Communication Guide free of charge.

MGM Wireless Executive Chairman Mark Fortunatow says that staff will be on standby all weekend to take crisis calls.

"We had an urgent call from one school that needed to evacuate all students immediately due to rising waters," Mr Fortunatow says. “Another needed to inform all parents, teachers and students about the cancellation of a planned camping trip this weekend.

"The service is available for immediate use for schools and is very simple and straightforward to use. MGM Help Desk staff will remain on standby and ready to assist schools to use the emergency SMS service."

Outreach Parent SMS Service for Floods Crisis

The offer includes an unlimited number of FREE SMS messages for emergency and crisis use. This free offer is available to every affected Australian school until March 9th, for 14 days' use, which should be enough time for the current flooding to subside.
