OfficeMax has tapped former Telstra and IBM executive Charles Agee as Managing Director of OfficeMax Australia and Senior Vice President of OfficeMax Incorporated.

Ravi Saligram, President and CEO of OfficeMax Incorporated said, “In addition to broad management experience, Charles has extensive turnaround and sales leadership experience. His experience in transforming product-focused organisations into service-orientated companies will be particularly beneficial as he steps into his new role”

Charles joins the team with extensive general management and business-to-business sales experience. With years leading various business units with IBM Global Services across Asia-Pacific, Charles served most recently as the Executive Director, Small Business at Telstra Corporation. He holds an MBA from Macquarie Graduate School of Management in Sydney.

Charles said “I am thrilled to be a part of such a great company and with the opportunity to lead this team to even greater levels of customer focus and centricity. Delighting our customers and keeping them in the centre of what we do at OfficeMax will be key in our efforts to expand the value we provide.”


About Charles Agee
As Managing Director, OfficeMax, Charles is responsible for all aspects of the Australian subsidiary of the number two player in the global office supplies and solutions market. In addition to his Australian responsibilities, Charles is a Senior Vice-President and Officer of OfficeMax Incorporated.

A 22-year veteran of the IT industry, Charles has held numerous senior executive roles with IBM, Autodesk, Novell, and other IT firms.

Prior to joining OfficeMax, Charles spent 5 years at Telstra, most recently as the Executive Director, Small Business.

Having grown up on a small tobacco farm in Kentucky, Charles is a naturalized Australian citizen, graduate of MGSM, and a father of three.
