Thousands of households in New South Wales have not claimed cash rebates for energy efficient washing machines, fridges, freezers and dishwashers purchased since 28 April 2011.

A company called Pty Ltd, an approved Accredited Certificate Provider, creates the rebates under the NSW Government’s Energy Savings Scheme. The scheme promotes energy efficiency in NSW by legislating electricity retailers to purchase Energy Savings Certificates from Accredited Certificate Providers.

A representative, Craig Jones, said that “With increasing electricity costs and pressure on household budgets, it is vital that people consider running costs of appliances and make smarter purchasing decisions in the current economic environment”.

The rebate amount depends on the star rating of the appliance. For example, the rebate for a 4 star two door fridge with a capacity greater than 500 Litres is $60.

If you have purchased (or are about to purchase) a fridge, freezer, dishwasher or washing machine, the rebate form is available at
