Despite an increase in the number of startup incubators this year, there is still a dearth of seed capital for business startups in Australia, forcing many entrepreneurs to move offshore.
Five well know Australians immersed in the local entrepreneur community will share their experiences and discuss possible solutions at the 2012 National Angel Conference (Feb 29-March 2, Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre).
The need to ensure the supply of angel investors will be discussed through a series of case studies by Mick Liubinskas of Pollenizer; Niki Scevak of StartMate; Rebecca Campbell from Posse.com; Leni Mayo of 99Designs and Steve Baxter from RiverCityLabs.
- What do entrepreneurs think has gone wrong previously and how do we improve it?
- Why do too many entrepreneurs go overseas rather than build a business in Australia?
- Do successful entrepreneurs think they can work within a collaborative Angel Investor community by themselves becoming investors?
