Seniors are constantly being bombarded with nutritional information on daily vitamin and mineral intakes that will ensure good health, but are given few simple solutions on how to do so.

However a new take on the traditional two fruit and five vegetable recommendation may just be the answer.

Super Sprout manufactures a range of organically-dried 100 per cent pure fruit and vegetable powders – a solution whereby adding just a few teaspoons of any of their products to food can help dramatically boost dietary requirements.

Super Sprout CEO Melinda Richards says their product range retains the nutrients, minerals and flavours of the fruit and vegetables, just as if you were buying these items off the shelf at your local supermarket.

“As seniors age, preparing and cooking vegetables for every dinner becomes a more arduous task, however the Super Sprout vegetable range allows them to add the goodness of real vegies to their meal without the hassle,” Ms Richards says.

“Carrots for example, are a great source of dietary fibre, Vitamin C, Vitamin K and Manganese, are a rich source of Beta-Carotene, and are an extremely powerful antioxidant.

“Beta Carotene is converted to Vitamin A in the human body and it can protect against stroke and heart disease.”

Super Sprout’s flagship product is the broccoli sprout powder, with sprouts known to be approximately 20 times more nutritious than any other food plant available.

Numerous research studies, even as recently as published in the European Journal of Clinical Nutrition in August, all demonstrate the benefits of broccoli sprouts antioxidant properties which can help stimulate the ability of cells to protect against disease, including diabetes, cholesterol and blood pressure.

Melinda says she hopes Super Sprout products can make life just that much easier for those who struggle to get their daily dose of fresh fruit and vegetables.

“Super Sprout is not a substitute for a healthy and balanced diet, but there are times in our lives when we need a little help, “ Melinda says.

“It is just a different way to think about food and are a fantastic addition to your favourite recipe giving it a real boost in nutritional value.

“After many years research and testing we’ve developed a range of 10 fruit and vegetable powders which can be used as additives to food to ensure seniors get their daily intake of vitamin and minerals.”

Melinda says the current technology used on the fruit and vegetables is key to the product range retaining all their goodness.

“Our state of the art systems guarantee the products integrity leaving the cell structure in tact allowing the nutrients to remain untouched,” Melinda says.

“We provide a product that is unique to both the Australian and international markets, which even after being packaged retains all the goodness of the original food.

“Super Sprout powders are a different way to think about food and are a fantastic addition to your favourite recipe giving it a real boost in nutritional value.”

The entire Super Sprout range includes broccoli sprout, wheatgrass sprout, apple, lemon, strawberry, beetroot, carrot, ginger, blueberry and barleygrass sprout.
