Undeterred by negative market predictions, new South Australian publishing and production company R&R Books Film Music release five books this month as well as continuing its development of upcoming film and music projects.
The release of the five titles is part of their strategy to place their catalog of over 130 written resources into the marketplace in 2012.
"We're lucky," says Rob Parnell, co-owner of R&R. "It's been our policy to deliberately shun traditional publishing for over ten years now, preferring to publish ourselves via the Net. Now we have a catalog of over one hundred and thirty books that we know are already bestsellers online. This year will see the roll out of all these books into the 'real' world. We're very excited right now."
The books are: PSI Kids: Willow, a paranormal YA thriller from Rob Parnell, the first in the PSI Kids series; Maya and the Crystal Skull by Robyn Opie Parnell, the first in the Maya series; Caught in a Cyclone by Robyn Opie Parnell, a middle grade novel about Cyclone Tracy, 1974; Cyclone Santa, a screenplay version of the novel from both Rob and Robyn; and Stop, Do Not Read This Book, a middle grade novel about dyslexia from Robyn Opie Parnell.
All of the titles are available through R&R Books Film Music in Australia and New Zealand, and via Amazon around the rest of the world.
"We've received our first pre-orders from South Australian libraries already - and this is only three weeks into the company's offline launch," says Rob Parnell. "Obviously we see this is as a very good sign for the future."
