Perth people who are isolated, lonely, or without family this festive season are invited to come along this Sunday to enjoy Mission Australia's annual Christmas Lunch in the Park (CLIP).

Now in its 36th year, Mission Australia's annual Christmas Lunch in the Park, held at Wellington Square Park in East Perth, is Perth’s biggest Christmas Day charity event.

Free shuttle buses will operate from Perth and Claisebrook Train Stations to take people to and from the event.

Mission Australia State Director Carmen Acosta said the focus of the event once again was about bringing the community together and sharing the Christmas spirit.

"We want people from all walks of life who, for one reason or another, don’t have friends or family to share the Christmas experience with to come along just before 11.30am and be a part of our community on Christmas Day," Ms Acosta said.

"CLIP is all about people coming together to enjoy a meal, entertainment and great companionship on Christmas Day."

For the second year now, BHP Billiton Iron Ore will sponsor CLIP, in partnership with BankWest which has come on-board this year as co-sponsor of the event.

"The staff and management from both organisations have worked hard all year to raise much needed funds for this event to ensure everyone in the Perth community has the opportunity to enjoy Christmas Day."

Ms Acosta said that Christmas Lunch in the Park continued to be a key feature of Perth’s festive season, bringing the public, companies and hundreds of volunteers together to make sure Christmas was a special time for everyone.

"Financial donations are particularly important to help us run this event and the people of WA can get involved by calling us, or visiting our CLIP website to download a donation form."
