The growing interest in Australia’s solar energy market from countries such as China will be addressed during a special ‘market entry’ workshop to be held as part of the Solar 2011 Conference in Sydney from 29 November to 2 December 2011.

The innovative approach will see an introduction to the Australian solar energy market provided for prospective suppliers and business partners from China. The session will be translated into Mandarin.

CEO of the Australian Solar Energy Society (AuSES), John Grimes, said the workshop will be an important opportunity to engage Chinese companies on the characteristics and requirements of the Australian market, including technical standards and business practices.

“There’s no denying the growing importance of China as a supplier of solar energy technology, and if we are serious about driving the adoption of affordable solar energy solutions we need to be working closely with Chinese manufacturers and suppliers on providing the best products and technology for the Australian market,” Mr Grimes said.

Mr Grimes said the workshop is being run in conjunction with Chinese solar energy industry representatives and is a valuable opportunity to strengthen collaboration and dialogue with Chinese companies interested in the Australian market.

“Working with Chinese companies from the outset of their entry to the Australian market will help them to deliver the right product that meets Australian government, retailer, installer and consumer expectations.”

The workshop will be held on Friday 2 December as Stream Three of the 11pm timeslot, in Meeting Room 7ABC.
