What are 10-13 year olds up to on the Internet?  Do you supervise your kids?  Do you check up on them? How much time do they spend on social media?

All these questions and more are answered in the latest AVG Digital Maturity Survey of Australian kids aged 10-13.

  • 54% of Australian parents have gone into their kids’ computers to see what they are up to online and 43% have logged onto the social media profile of their 10-13 year old child.
  • 58% of parents say their 10-13 year olds have access to mainstream social networks, with 32% admitting their 10 year olds are on it, directly contravening the established minimum age restriction to join Facebook at 13.
