To play at the top level of any profession, you need to be in peak condition. Professional Violinist, Rebecca Gill, knows this only too well.

Since taking up the violin at the tender age of three years, Rebecca, now aged 25, has devoted thousands of hours to rehearsing and performing with the likes of the Australian Youth Orchestra and Sydney Symphony Orchestra.

Currently studying her research-based Masters in Violin Performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music, Rebecca spends a good deal of time reading and using the computer. She also has the physical demands of constantly moving her music equipment on foot.
To ensure she is able to balance this with the enormous physical demands of playing all day to such a high standard, Rebecca turned to remedial massage therapist, William Lam.

“I started going to William about three years ago. When I first met him, we had a discussion about my specific needs. He took the time to listen very carefully before we commenced any work,” Rebecca said.
“My muscles are naturally tight, and due to the repetitive nature of playing violin, certain muscles can get overworked and become locked. William has been able to get those muscles to release, allowing me to continue playing without ongoing pain or discomfort,” she said.

Rebecca sees William regularly for maintenance purposes, and thanks to private health insurance, she’s able to claim a large portion of the cost back. Seeing the improvement in Rebecca, several of her colleagues have also sought William’s assistance.
Conveniently located in the heart of Sydney’s CBD, William’s business, The Massage Therapist (TMT), is one of a select few to offer accredited services for both remedial massage and physiotherapy. TMT offers an easy online booking system via their website, and they are open extended hours. TMT are accredited with all major health funds, as well as bring a part of the Medibank Private Member’s Choice Network. They also offer HICAPS, providing the benefit of on-the-spot rebates from your fund.

Remedial massage benefits people in a wide range of professions, relieving pain and enhancing performance, just as it has for Rebecca, who says, “Without William’s treatments, I’m really not sure I could continue to play at this level.”
