Tiffany Dunk knows her teens. The Dolly editor moderates the magazine's Twitter and Facebook sites which boast 83,500 fans. She will have rich information to share on the secret life of teen readers online when she speaks at the Publishers Australia Magazine Week Conference on Thursday 10th November.

"I will be sharing insights from our recent findings in the Dolly Youth Monitor - a massive piece of research into teen media consumption,” said Dunk.

Joining Dunk to discuss ‘THE SOCIAL BEAT – connecting with your audience’ will be Isabelle Oderberg, Social Media Editor of The Herald & Weekly Times and David Kettle, Managing Director, Globe Publishing. The session will be moderated by award-winning journalist Fiona MacDonald.

The rules of engagement for social media have yet to be defined, but Oderberg says “I am looking forward to debating the role of social media with the other panelists and discussing how we integrate and evolve this tool into our media space.”

Elsewhere in the programme, Google’s Head of Media Solutions Karen Stocks will join Atomic Editor David Hollingworth and B&T Editor Tim Addington to discuss ‘BUILDING COMMUNITIES’.

The role of the humble scribe has evolved into network maker and brand builder across multiple channels. Watch Karen Stocks draw back Google’s curtain and talk through the approach of different publishers and content producers as well as advertisers on YouTube and how they have engaged online communities
