In evidence of the success of South Australia’s University City Project, the University College London recently opened the doors to its School of Energy and Resources in Adelaide and has wasted little time in appointing local digital agency Via Media to undertake the development of its website.

Launched last week, the site offers prospective domestic and international students information on UCL’s Master of Science and PhD degrees and stream of Executive Education courses - specialising in the critical energy and resources sector – now offered in Australia by one of the leading universities in the world. COO Richard Martin said the site was only part of the brief.

“We expect digital media to play a growing role in the recruitment of our students," Mr Martin said. "Via Media showed they understood the communications aspect of what we are seeking to achieve, and provided a highly responsive and professional service - we’re look forward to continuing to work with them.”

The partnership with the Government of South Australia offers a unique opportunity to create a teaching, executive training and research centre which, in an industry-focused way, will analyse and explore these issues in a highly relevant geographical context.

The School is situated in the Torrens Building in Victoria Square, Adelaide. This building is owned by the Government of South Australia and also houses Carnegie Mellon Heinz College and the offices of Cranfield University in Adelaide; UCL is part of the South Australian government’s dynamic vision for Adelaide to become a University City.
