Microsoft has recently made changes to its software donations program to enable more Australian nonprofit and charity organisations to access a wider variety of donated Microsoft products through Connecting Up’s DonorTec technology donations program.

The DonorTec program has already facilitated donations of over $120 million worth of Microsoft software to Australian nonprofits, and these changes will see new categories of nonprofit organisations become eligible for software donations, including amateur sports and recreational organisations and private foundations.

In addition, Microsoft has expanded the number of different Microsoft software products that can be requested, and how often they can be requested, allowing nonprofits to get the technology they need, when they need it.

Doug Jacquier, CEO of Connecting Up says, “Our team is extremely pleased with Microsoft’s donation program which affords the nonprofit sector greater access to a wider range of donated products.”

“Connecting Up is committed to supporting nonprofits across Australia to embrace technology with fewer barriers and more flexibility. Thank you to the continuous support from our technology partners like Microsoft,” said Mr Jacquier.

Since its inception in 1998, Microsoft has awarded US$3.9 billion software in donations to nonprofit organisations across 100 countries globally. Connecting Up has been instrumental in facilitating these donations in Australia and New Zealand’s nonprofit sector.

The new updates give Australian nonprofits better access than ever to donated Microsoft software. For more information on registering for the DonorTec program, nonprofits can visit
