Last Sunday, hundreds of motorcyclists from around Australia embarked on the 3,000km journey to the Red Centre in support of the Black Dog Institute. The Institute is an educational, research and clinical facility offering specialist expertise in mood disorders such as depression and bipolar.

The Ride is now at its halfway mark, with riders last night arriving in Port Augusta, South Australia.

The Ride has already raised funds of over $115,000 which is a significant milestone to have reached, considering last year’s ride raised approximately $80,000 all up.

Michael Field, a Sydney-based consultant, and currently the number-two fundraiser for the Ride said, “I have met some remarkable people, that I know will be friends for life. The ride is for a great cause, and I am so impressed with everyone’s generosity.”

PKL Recruitment ( is the major sponsor of Michael’s ride, as well as corporate sponsorship from Ford Health (

The Ride finishes on Sunday August 28, at the Red Centre, in the Northern Territory.
