Local Toowoomba solicitor Chris Neville of Condon Charles Lawyers is urging as many people as possible to take advantage of a forthcoming Red Cross Wills day in Toowoomba to make sure they have a current Will.

Mr Neville says "When people pass away without a Will the emotional and financial impact on their loved ones can be significant.

“On top of the loss felt, this additional burden can lead to anger, confusion and disputes amongst those left behind.

“That’s why the Red Cross Wills Day is such an important service and one that Condon Charles Lawyers is proud to support.

Red Cross National Bequest Manager Ian Williamson says “A Will is the most practical way of ensuring our final wishes are clear and the people we wish to look after are, in fact provided for.

“A Will is one of the simplest things we can do to look after our loved ones, to protect what happens to our assets and to perhaps consider leaving a bequest to Red Cross.

“Each year Red Cross is called on to help thousands of vulnerable people right across Australia.

“A final gift in your Will to Red Cross will help ensure Red Cross is still around for generations to come to meet the needs of the most vulnerable people in our local communities.

“Every gift in every Will, however large or small, makes a difference.”

To help people prepare a simple Will with local solicitors for only $75 per person Red Cross has arranged a special Community Wills event at St Stephens Church Hall in Union Street on Tuesday 27th September from 11am to 3pm.

“This is a great opportunity to make a new Will, or update your existing Will” says Mr Williamson.
