Innovative direct food sales company Your Inspiration at Home have cleaned up at the Wrest Point Royal Hobart Fine Food Awards over the weekend, collecting 45 medals from the 56 products they entered.

Additionally, the company took out the top prize for both their Madras Curry Seasoning in the Class 952 category and for their Hawaiian Hibiscus Bliss Tea in the Class 950 category.

The awards are run over a three day period, and have been held annually since 1996.

One of the biggest events on the Australian culinary calendar, the awards are run by the Royal Agricultural Society of Tasmania, with entrants from all around Australia submitting over 1000 products to be judged by a panel of experts.

The Gold Coast-based Your Inspiration at Home utilise a multi-faceted direct selling model, wherein products are sold via party planners, as well as through direct supply to caterers and restaurants.

Their range focuses strongly on rubs, herb and spice blends, oils and vinegars, as well as cooking tools and utensils.

Where companies like Tupperware use only direct selling to distribute their products, Your Inspiration At Home use a multifaceted business model where independent consultants sell direct to consumers and wholesale to the food service Industry.

Founder and CEO Colleen Walters says the win is a major coup for the company.

“We’ve been working hard to develop and refine our products to ensure that they can compete with and exceed anything you can buy in the shops,” Ms Walters says.

“Our success in these awards is a wonderful validation that we’re creating a quality range of products that ranks with the best in the highly competitive food market.

“I’ve always had great confidence in what we do, and this latest win has really helped to reinforce that we are one of the leading gourmet food innovators and distributors in Australia.”

The company has only been in operation for 16 months but has already turned over AU$1 million and has 270 party planners—many of whom will be attending their first annual company convention in the Gold Coast next week.

Colleen Walters says the quality of the business’s range of products has been the integral factor in achieving such rapid success.

“Your Inspiration at Home’s ethos is to provide the ingredients necessary to create tasty, healthy meals and snacks at home quickly and simply,” she says.

“People are becoming more and more time poor, but there is an ever-growing emphasis on eating healthily.

“Our products allow you to save time and money while still eating well—it’s a solution that many people find very appealing.

“What’s more, our products are all made with the highest quality ingredients; something all our customers know and appreciate.

“I believe that our success at the fine food awards in Hobart is indicative of this commitment to quality as well as our in-depth knowledge of trends in the food industry globally.”
