Pure Hacking, Australia’s leading specialist information security consultancy today confirmed the appointment of two new security experts and the establishment of a new Strategic Security Practice. The new hires, Jonathan Carter, Principal Security Consultant and Head of Strategic Security, together with David Muscat, Senior Security Consultant will be responsible for security and governance consulting reviews against systems, networks, devices and applications for clients across a variety of industry sectors.

According to Rob McAdam, CEO for Pure Hacking, “We are very happy to be expanding our team at this crucial time and strengthening our focus on Strategic Security with the formation of a new Practice area. Australian organisations today are very cognisant of the responsibilities and risks in data management and security and we need to ramp up our team numbers and skill base to meet this demand.”

He continued, “I am pleased to announce the appointment of Jonathan Carter to the role of Principal Security Consultant and David Muscat to the role of Senior Security Consultant. They both bring with them the relevant specialist skills, experience and industry leadership capabilities that Pure Hacking is renowned for.”

Jonathan Carter, Principal Security Consultant, has over five year’s in-depth experience in security roles here in Australia and the USA. Jonathan is joining Pure Hacking to lead the recently formed Strategic Security Practice for the company. This Practice assists organisations understand their current security posture and how to implement and manage potential improvements, courtesy of highly customised security roadmaps from Pure Hacking.

With a first class distinction in his Masters in Computer Science (Artificial Intelligence), Jonathan has held roles as Security Consultant, Security Researcher and Architect and Designer for organisations including b-Sec, Fortify and the Commonwealth Bank. He is an active member of the Open Web Application Security Project (OWASP) Community.

With over a decade’s experience in the security industry and specialist expertise in security consulting for enterprise-level organisations, David Muscat, Senior Security Consultant is returning to Pure Hacking where he will be building secure systems for clients.

Prior to returning to Pure Hacking, David held senior security consulting and security architect and designer roles at Commonwealth Bank, PureSec and security software vendor, Symantec. With a B.Sc. in Computing Science and Diploma, Information Technology Professional Practice (UTS), David is also certified ISC2 – CISSP.
