Sydney, 2 June 2011: Next generation cloud infrastructure specialist, Virtual Ark, is on a trajectory to grab a share of the US$250Bn market helping global enterprise software companies adapt to lower cost, more flexible, and more scalable cloud-based infrastructure.

The two year-old company was established by Hostworks founding CEO, Marty Gauvin, now President and CEO, with former sales and marketing director, Klaus Bartosch as Executive Vice President. Following the development and sale of Hostworks to Broadcast Australia for $68 million, the entrepreneurial Australian team have already turned Virtual Ark into an international success.

Of the global US$250Bn enterprise software market, only 10% has transitioned to SaaS (Software as a Service) delivery models - which have proven to offer cost optimisation and operational efficiency benefits. Forecasts show that SaaS growth rate in 2014 is nearly 4 times that of on-premise software, with 39% of customers considering switching to SaaS.
