Asia Pacific eLearning leader Catapult eLearning has won three major innovation awards in the space of a week. The South Australia-based company took out two trophies at the Asia Pacific International LearnX Awards and an iAward, presented by the Australian Information Industry Association (AIIA) in Adelaide this week.

Last week, the company joined global icons such as fellow award winners Microsoft and Adobe to take out Best Learning Management System and Best Rapid eLearning Tool at LearnX in Sydney.

Catapult eLearning managing director David Bartlett said that, as well as recognising his company’s excellence, the awards recognise Australia’s leadership in online education and training.

“Australia is the largest exporter in the world of education, across tertiary, Vocational Education and Training (VET) and high school. International education is our third biggest export industry, responsible 1% of Australia’s GDP, ahead of the gold, petroleum, tourism or aluminium industries,” Mr Bartlett said.

“Catapult is a leader in this thriving market because we have brought together the two key quotients for online learning that are sought after by training organisations across Asia Pacific: a library of quality Australian accredited resources with a highly intuitive learning management system.”

Catapult has joined the South Australian delegation attending Hong Kong Trade Development Council ICT Expo (11-14 April, 2009).

“Hong Kong is a major market for Catapult because there is a high level of synergy between the standards demanded by the Hong Kong VET sector and Australia’s training framework. It’s also a launchpad into the Chinese market which also has a high demand for quality training resources.”

Mr Bartlett said that Catapult provides an eLearning platform that can be rapidly deployed yet is flexible enough to include content from variety of sources.

“Our customers can brand the Catapult system to give their students a seamless learning experience from classroom to computer.

“This is ‘anywhere, any time’ learning at its best and helps our customers differentiate themselves in the competitive education sector. The standard of our training materials assures students of the quality of their education.”
