ebm-papst is an exhibitor at the upcoming AIRAH Trade Night in Melbourne.

The AIRAH Trade Night allow AIRAH members and other industry representatives to discuss, touch and observe new products in the heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration industry.

At the upcoming AIRAH Trade Night in Melbourne, ebm-papst A&NZ showcase their very powerful EC plug fan K3G250-AV29-B2 being speed controlled using a temperature sensor as well as the new stand-alone EC Controller CCC000-AD06-02.

The intelligent EC controller uses simple analogue speed control protocol and is representative of a typical demand control system in an air-conditioning and ventilation application. In a representative application, with the four digital inputs in the EC Controller, it is possible to (a) remotely enable / disable the fan (b) run at summer / winter mode corresponding to two set-points with the same temperature sensor (c) create a manual over-ride / emergency mode operation at a fixed speed and (d) set a night mode speed limitation of the fan.

The integrated LCD display provides easy operation across multiple levels. This also makes it an appropriate solution for de-centralised control of ebm-papst EC fans in a large plant.

Also on exhibit is an EC axial fan type W3G500-CE33-11 fan being speed controlled and monitored over RS 485 using Bluetooth technology. On demonstration will be the flexibility to program the fan to (a) open loop PWM control mode whereby the fan responds to an analogue input from an external potentiometer and or (b) closed loop sensor control mode whereby the fan responds to a temperature sensor. All of these are achieved by using the ebm-papst versatile software Fan Control and Fan Clone (which are embedded in a PDA) using a Bluetooth / RS 485 converter (ebmpapst accessory). This solution is easy to use and ideal for quick programming of fans, particularly where multiple fans are to be programmed on the same settings, thereby making the whole programming process easy and efficient.

The next AIRAH Trade Night will take place in Melbourne on 12.05.2011 at

About ebm-papst A&NZ Pty Ltd
We are the leading global manufacturer and supplier of fans, blowers and air moving products. We provide a unique range of air movement or specialist drives products. Our motor technology, engineering and logistics expertise will add value to your business.

ebm-papst A&NZ Pty Ltd was formed in December 2005 following separation from long-time partners. Since then, ebm-papst has grown and developed, and is now situated in a new head office in Laverton North, Melbourne, with offices in Sydney and Auckland.
Our products and innovations are developed in three main manufacturing and development centres, namely: ebm-papst Mulfingen (formerly ebm), ebm-papst St. Georgen (formerly PAPST) and ebm-papst Landshut (formerly mvl). At ebm-papst A&NZ Pty Ltd, we develop fan, motor and control solutions for the following applications:

• Refrigeration
• Air-conditioning
• Heating
• Ventilation
• Electronics
• Telecommunications
• Bio medical
• Automotive
• Sensors and actuators
• Prime movers

In order to achieve an aerodynamically optimum shape for our fans, we design fan blades, impellers and ducted housings to fit the application environment. From seemingly small details, such as the bladetip slip with winglets, we can achieve significant noise reduction with even higher efficiencies. We combine our expert drive engineering and aerodynamics with intelligent electronics for optimal efficiency, creating system solutions that work.

A concern for the environment underpins all that we do at ebm-papst A&NZ Pty Ltd. We have adopted the GreenTech philosophy and are committed to creating products that are sustainable and environmentally responsible. The GreenTech idea reflects our simple company principle: "Each new product that we develop has to be better than its predecessor in terms of economy and ecology." Year after year, we commit our knowhow and inventiveness to redefining standards with ever more powerful and efficient motors and fans that raise the bar ever higher.

By signing the Kyoto protocol Australia has followed New Zealand and committed its future to tackling climate change and global warming. ebm-papst has been addressing these issues globally and now supplies 36% of its turnover with EC or high efficiency, speed controllable motor technology.

Ultimately, the efficiency of GreenTech is measurable. For example by satisfying the strictest limits for energy-powered products that the EU has passed to date. These planned limits are not scheduled to come into force until 2015, but our EC fans already exceed them by far.
Moreover, we are pleased that our entire production chain regularly stands up to the scrutiny of environmental specialists. Awards such as

AIRAH Awards of Excellence
arbs Industry Awards - Refrigeration Product Excellence
arbs Industry Awards - HVAC Product Excellence
Cool World Industry Awards - Winner Excellence Award
Cool World Industry Awards - Green Innovator of the Year

clearly show that we can live up to our own high standards.

ebm-papst A&NZ Pty Ltd is committed to supporting manufacturers in Australia and New Zealand with innovative products and added value such that they can prosper in increasingly turbulent global markets.
