Parramatta Park will be the scene of a live concert featuring some of Australia and New Zealand’s finest music acts performing, Saturday 16th April from 2:00pm for the Christchurch Earthquake Appeal.

The concert will include performances by Renee Geyer, Emily Williams, Maisey Rika, Sarah Ann Walker, Nga Uri O Rahiri Maori Culture Group and an NRL player’s Maori haka.

New Zealand and Australian War Veterans will present a moving candle lit vigil to pay respects to the victims who perished in the Christchurch and Japan earthquakes.

The concert is supported by Parramatta City Council, New Zealand Consulate, Parramatta Park Trust, Campbelltown City Council and Nga Uri O Rahiri Inc

Chris Barber, Chairman of Nga Uri O Rahiri and concert organisers said “we find it painful that our homeland is in need and is crippled in many ways by this disaster and this is just a small part we can play to help”.

A crowd of 15,000 people is expected to support the event. Tickets are $15 Adults and $5 Children under 12. Tickets can be purchased at Parramatta City Council, Campbelltown City Council or at Moshtix – www.moshtix.com.au.
