Angel Investment Forum - 6th of April 2011 at Innovate SA
The South Australian Angel investment community is gathering together to educate potential investors on what it takes to become an Angel.
This forum, last run four years ago, will detail how Angel Investments can be integrated into an existing investment portfolio, while at the same time providing exposure to young vibrant companies seeking investment funds and expertise to maximise growth.
Attendees will sample what could be the ‘Next Big Thing’ in terms of start-up companies coming out of SA and how to stay at the forefront of the information flow.
Presenting on the day will be medical research start-up CIMTECH and SNAP Surveillance Networks along with speakers David Saint, Chairman of BioAngels and Michael Dilettoso, Chairman of SA Angels.
According to Michael Dilettoso, “Angel Investors are individuals who invest personal funds into early stage businesses. Adding both money and expertise to partner with entrepreneurs in driving high growth businesses.
“For many South Australian start-up companies, raising investment capital to fund business growth is vital to their success.
“Because most start-up companies don’t have sufficient assets or forward sales contracts to meet common lending criteria with banks, Angel Investors play a vital role in funding companies to attain their developmental goals.”
According to Mike Richards, who heads up the Venture Capital Team at Innovate SA, “Angel Investors work very closely with companies to help them grow and are rewarded with higher returns.
“Angel Investors tend to join accredited groups or networks such as SA Angels or BioAngels where they can network with other professional investors, gain access to leading edge deals and share the burden of due diligence.”
Innovate SA together with BioAngels and SA Angels co-host this investment forum. Innovate SA provides high impact services that accelerate growth and development of sustainable South Australian enterprises and industry sectors. Innovate SA is a vibrant, passionate organisation, valued for and sought out by enterprises and industry for the services and capabilities it provides.
