Friday, March 25th, 2011 - Blaze Advertising
A panel of branding and digital strategy experts, including Linkedin’s National Sales Manager, will show Adelaide businesses how to utilise social media and other digital tools as part of their attraction and recruitment strategies in a seminar hosted by specialist HR Communications and Advertising Agency, Blaze, on Thursday 31st March.

Blaze Advertising’s General Manager, Sally Day, believes it makes good business sense to explore how social media can be integrated into recruitment communications strategies.

“Social media is rapidly becoming one of our primary forms of communications and this is just another way businesses can communicate with potential candidates. This seminar is aimed at people new to the world of social media and will demystify the communication channels, and show organisations how to develop a strategy to deliver better people outcomes for their businesses,” she says.

“Social media may not be right for all organisations right now, but consideration of how or whether to incorporate social media tools into attraction and recruitment strategies should be on the minds of all who have responsibility for hiring. We want to help HR professionals advise their CEOs on the right strategy for their organisation.”

A recent study of major US employers- the annual “Sources of Hire” report- revealed social media, such as Facebook and Linkedin, has become the primary means of directly sourcing passive candidates.

“As the Australian economy continues to rebound, and skills shortages continue, attraction strategies that access the broadest possible field of potential candidates are essential for all organisations,” Ms Day says.

“Social media presents a great opportunity for companies to promote their employment brand attributes and create a connection with potential candidates in a new platform that is less about broadcasting and more about candidate relationship management. Like all media and communications management, social media needs to be a considered strategy.”

Hosted by Sally Day, the seminar will feature: Head of Employment Strategy and Branding at Blaze, James Wiggins who will explore integrating and leveraging your employment brand and your attraction, retention and engagement strategies using social media; Head of Digital at Blaze, Casey Aimer, who will ‘unpack social media tools’ and show how they are used in the recruitment space; and to finish off the seminar special guest, Linkedin’s National Sales Manager, Adam Gregory will walk people through the LinkedIn story and significant case studies and provide advice on how to reach candidates using the Linkedin platform.

Specialising in Employment Communications and Advertising, Blaze has worked with clients such as Ernst & Young and Lion Nathan in building their recruitment capabilities through social networking and employment brand strength.

Blaze Advertising’s “Are you ready for social media?” seminar will take place on Thursday 31st March from 8:30am-12:00pm with many of Blaze’s key customers. The event is at no-charge but attendance is limited at two people per organisation. To register please contact Martin Krutli on (08) 8130 1900 or e-mail [email protected]
