Melbourne based company Ultramedix Australasia Pty Ltd today announced that they have expanded their range of ultrasound equipment to include the new SIUI Apogee 1100 colour doppler portable and SIUI Apogee 3500 Omni Cart based scanners.

Says Ultramedix spokesman Saul Freedman, our principals SIUI (Shantou Institute of Ultrasonic Instruments) Co. Ltd are the biggest manufacturing base of ultrasound instruments in China. They developed their first ultrasound in 1983 and this formerly state owned company is now a private shareholding company marking the company’s new boom.

SIUI is privileged to have a State Certified Corporate Technology Center, the only one in China’s ultrasound industry. A number of R&D talents, and experts entitled to State Council Special Allowance work at SIUI and over 60% of their staff have engineering and technical backgrounds.

By learning from successful famous companies, SIUI today has a strong core of technology innovation, self development and full control of core technologies. One example of this was Hitachi whose models were at one time assembled by SIUI and another was ATL who in 1997 held around 30% of the world radiological ultrasound market and spun off their company's Apogee technology to various buyers including SIUI.

SIUI has continued to build upon these core strengths with its own strong R & D and today has a remarkable range of high technology ultrasound units that compete with the world’s best. 10% of sales revenues are invested in R & D with facilities both at home in China and in the US.

SIUI have climbed to a new peak of technical innovation. Their ultrasound scanners and colour Doppler systems have become the most competitive products in the international market and SIUI has developed into a key high-tech corporation exporting to over 80 countries and annual production exceeds 8,000 ultrasound units and 20,000 transducers.

The high quality Apogee 1100 provides a comprehensive range of high quality imaging, does not compromise on performance by being a portable and colour doppler performance is superb. Imaging functions include trapezoizal imaging, SRT (speckle reduction technology), harmonic imaging and compound imaging. A wide range of probes and configurations is available including broadband 4D convex and transvaginal probes, small parts and microconvex probes.

The Apogee 3500 Omni is aimed at the radiology and hospital market and can be widely used for abdomen, vascular, breast, OB/Gyn, superficial structures, musculoskeletal, urology, cardiology,pediatric/nenates and small parts imaging.

To mark the availability of the new SIUI models, Ultramedix are offering exceptional pricing on their SIUI range this month.
