Former research scientist Xenia Ioannou says people work too hard to waste the money they earn on get-rich-quick schemes, near zero interest banking and bad investments.

One of Australia’s most respected property investors, Ioannou gave up under-paid work in the laboratory in favour of financial independence 10 years ago. Since then, she has built an impressive Australian and international portfolio by combining sound investment principals and the most sophisticated information available.

Ioannou says obstacles such as the global financial crisis, tougher banking practices and a sheer lack of experience can all be overcome by people who are serious about learning to invest and prepared to take the initiative to make their money work for them.

“People dream about financial freedom but when they get the chance to achieve it, too many don’t have the courage to step out of their comfort zone,” she says. “The only thing that stops people from achieving financial freedom is not knowing how to (and) if they did step out of their comfort zone, they’d realise there was enormous earning potential they’ve never known before."

Ioannou runs Wealth Zone Education, which is next month conducting an information evening to give would-be investors the opportunity to take control of their financial situation. The event will feature renowned investment adviser and Global Wealth Mentor George Fokas, who will speak on dealing with the stock market in any climate and creating financial freedom through renting out shares.

“About 10 years ago, when I started investing and building a portfolio, I had to fly interstate and overseas to gather information,” she says. “I’d have loved to have been able to just go to a local information evening and get started but credible financial speakers rarely came to Adelaide back then. The information being offered at this evening is priceless for anyone who genuinely wants to take control of their financial future.”

The Wealth Zone Education information evening will be held at the Adelaide Royal Coach, 24 Dequetteville Terrace, Kent Town, at 6.30pm on Thursday, February 10. Interested persons can register online at www.thewealthzone.com.au or contact Xenia Ioannou on 0412 437 582.
